Development of relationship between parent and child during pregnancy

This thesis deals with the parent - child bond in prenatal period and aims to understand the feeling of this relationship and to describe its development. It also answers the questions of parental strategies used to develop parent - child bond and the specifications of women- and men - child relationship. The essay on parental bond and its aspects are described in the first chapter of the theoretical part. The description of prenatal function development which influences forming the prenatal bond is in the next chapter and the psychical changes of the parents during pregnancy are described in the last chapter. The research was made by using the form of semi-structured interwiew. There were 5 pairs, i.e. 5 women, 5 men inquired into and all the women were in the third trimester of pregnancy. The results show that the parent - child bond in prenatal period is multidimensional construction which involves more aspects. In general three elementary levels of the bond were discovered: cognitive, emotional and behavioural. The thesis describes more real aspects of prenatal bond important for parents which are imaginations and phantasies about the child, beginnings of gender identity, intuition bond, positive emotions, fears, readiness, need of child care through the mother and the communication. This bachelor's thesis is focused on risk factors during the prenatal period and is divided into two main parts: a theoretical section, which is the principal part of the thesis, and a practical section. The theoretical section is primarily a literature overview and aims to present the main group of risk factors that may already affect the child in the prenatal period. The conclusion of this theoretical section is concerning with ways of monitoring the effects of these risk factors, especially genetic ones. The practical section is focused on designing a research project aimed at monitoring the relationship between prenatal maternal stress and any subsequent occurrence of infantile colic of the infant. Progression in Relationship of Parents to Child in the Prenatal Period

This work is engaged in a possibility to communicate and make relations of both parents to unborn baby. Main aim of this work is to point out the possibilities to form a positive relation of mother and father to baby in prenatal period. The result is that expectant parents who want to contact the baby can do much more than only caress a belly or speak to it.

Living through troublefree period of pregnancy is closely linked to healthy nutrition, high quality prenatal care, passing courses for pregnant women and of course to understanding and support from close people.
